About
Born and Raised in Southern California, Cameron Nichoson presents a sound reminiscent of artists such as Ray LaMontagne and Noel Gallagher, blending that with the music of Laurel Canyon’s heyday. Turning to songwriting during the 2020 Lockdown, he began crafting songs from the ground up around the acoustic guitar, relying on its organic and honest nature to shine through in his work. His voice is naturally soft but he can coax a raw and emotional cry in his singing stemming from his love of Blues artists such as Son House, Howlin’ Wolf, and Lead Belly. Becoming a professional guitarist at age 16, he spent almost the entire next decade making a name for himself in the Roots, Americana, and Blues scene in Southern California opening for Joe Bonamassa, Los Lobos, and Steve Miller while being named one of 2018’s top national up-and-coming guitar players by Big City Rhythm and Blues Magazine. He has collaborated both on stage and in the studio with Bob Margolin (Muddy Waters), Sugaray Rayford, David Crosby, Jeff Bridges, Nick Waterhouse and several independent acts such as East Valley Road, Maxton Hunter and Jackson Gillies.
